First a question: how many better songs have been released since this one back in 1992? (Not many) Second, Rocky Top Talk is citing reports that Robert Meachem is turning pro. Glad that we could play a small part in that decision.

How anyone could interpret "Tennessee" to be about slavery is really beyond me.

what did you think the song was about tennesee williams?

Uh, no. It's pretty obvious that the song is about Speech's faith and relationship with his religion. We're not talking hidden metaphors or sub-textual comments here. The message is pretty anvilicious.

Now, it touches on slavery, but the song isn't writ large about slavery and to imply that it is is, well, to be mistaken.

maybe the song is about the treatment of the tennesee titans of their qb mcnair?
