DEBACLE IN THE DESERT

All credit should go to Mike Stoops, Syndric Steptoe, Antoine Cason and the Arizona Wildcats. We'll lick our wounds and drown our sorrows, and be back soon to strap it up for USC Week.

We have a Rose Bowl to clinch.

So close to winning too, so many errors by the Bears.

Hawk with the block in the back on Money Lynch's long run.

Hawk catching the long pass. . . and stumbling before the end zone.

DJ barely stepping out of bounds.

And then the two INTs that would've turned back an Arizona touchdown.

Arrrrrgh! Well, at least it is confirmed it's the Cal Bears I'm rooting for.

There was a reason this game seemed so dangerous.

It looked as if the Bears were never in sync in this game, and that the offense had decided to take a collective day off. Not fair, I know, but it did seem that way.

One thing I have noticed (and it may be false), but it also seems as if Tedford's Bears run out of momentum in Nov. In the first five or six games, Cal is usually a juggernaught, but as the season comes to the end, other teams apparently figure out Cal's offense and can scheme against it.

Anyway, this one was tough, but I have great hope the Bears can bounce back the way they did after the Tennessee loss.

Go Bears!

This will not succeed in reality, that is what I think.
